Girls Varsity Softball · Softball: Cats sweep Redskins to claim schools first softball conference title

Softball earned the schools first Wolverine Conference softball championship tonight with two wins at Paw Paw. The Cats won 11-0 and 20-2 to finish the Wolverine Conference schedule a perfect 18-0 (32-3 overall).

Game 1: Three Rivers 11 Paw Paw 0 (F/6)
Kylee Nash allowed one hit and struck out 12 in six innings. Amy Jo Tavernier and Erin Brady both hit home runs to lead an 11 hit attack. Brady had three hits and four RBI’s. Karalyn Eldridge, Kylee Nash, and Jessica Barnes each had two hits. Kali Heivilin added a hit.

Game 2: Three Rivers 20 Paw Paw 2 (F/4)
The Cats broke game two open with an eight spot in the top of the first. Karalyn Eldridge, Emma Thatcher, and Kali Heivilin each hit home runs as the Cats had 18 hits. Heivilin (5 RBI’s) and Jessica Barnes each had three hits. Thatcher (5 RBI’s), Eldridge, Halle Carpenter, Kylee Nash, and Erin Brady each had two hits. Amy Jo Tavernier and Tessa Hawkins each added hits. Nash struck out nine over four innings.
