Boys Varsity Football · Football: Cats win at Allegan, host Vicksburg next week

Football improved to 7-1 on the season with a Wolverine Conference 70-0 win tonight at Allegan. In the first half, Jalen Heivilin threw five touchdown passes, Bryce Morlan (12 yards), Jett Haifley (18 yards), Nolan Mark (3 yards), Morlan (4 yards), and Haifley (39 yards). The Cats added rushing touchdowns from Parker Ellifritz (5 yards) and Garrett McDonald (7 yards) along with a 50 yard punt return by Gavin Charvat and Ryan Mills recovered a fumble in the end zone for 63-0 halftime lead.

In the third quarter, Khynren Street scored on a 40 yard touchdown run. Bryce Morlan was 9 for 9 on extra points and Matt Lard kicked the final extra point.

Three Rivers finished with 280 yards of offense (165 passing/115 rushing) while holding Allegan to 14 yards offense. Street finished with a season high 79 yards rushing on 9 attempts. Heivilin passing was 12 for 13, 165 yards and 5 touchdowns. Haifley led the receivers tonight with 68 yards.

Defensively, Josh Draper led the Cats with 6 tackles, Ryan Mills had 4 (3 sacks). Linebacker Traven Van Oss returned tonight and had an interception.
