Football defeated Allegan tonight 42-38 in Wolverine Conference action at Tiger Stadium, finishing the regular season 3-6.

The Cats built a 14-0 lead in the first quarter on two Parker Ellifritz touchdowns (Punt return 56 yards, 4 yard run) and would take a 21-16 lead to half on a Scott Schrader 8 yard touchdown reception from Devon Gidley.

In the second half the Cats scored on the opening drive with Gidley connecting to Schrader from 41 yards.  Allegan cut the lead to 28-24 before Gidley and Schrader connected for a third time from 33 yards and a 35-24 lead.  Allegan rallied with two scores to take a 38-35 lead with just over four minutes left, the Cats scored with 1:37 left on a Devon Gidley run to regain the lead at 42-38.

The Cats defense forced a fumble on the second play of the last drive at midfield to secure the win.

Gidley finished 12 for 19, 195 yards and 3 touchdown passes.  Schrader finished with 9 receptions for 176 yards and 3 scores.  Parker Ellifritz led the rushing attack with 71 yards on 14 attempts.  The Cats finished with 366 total yards (119 rushing, 247 passing).

Defensively, Schrader had 11.5 tackles including 9 solos.
