Kali Heivilin, the Wildcats shortstop, and three sport (Volleyball, Basketball, Softball), four year varsity standout, signed a national letter of intent today to play for the Southeastern Conference’s Alabama Crimson Tide.
THE HEIVILIN FILE:
*verbally committed to Alabama on October 14 last year.
*recruited by 15 Division One Softball programs. Also was recruited in Volleyball.
*chose the Crimson Tide over Kentucky, Clemson, and Michigan.
*played travel softball for the Indiana Magic Gold 2018 & 2019 before joining the Tennessee Mojo this fall. Her first travel team was Hurricanes (Kalamazoo based) in 2011 when Kali was 8 years old.
*ultimate student-athlete, carrying a 4.03 GPA
*plans to major in Kinesiology.
*favorite sport besides softball: basketball
*favorite state she has visited through travel softball: Colorado.
*most memorable high school moment (so far): Freshman year, winning softball conference & districts.

*advice to younger female athletes as a three-sport athlete: “Three-sport athletes have so many more advantages over a one-sport athlete, different muscle usage, always wanting to compete, having others push me like Hadley (Miller) in basketball, Shelby (Krawczak) in Volleyball, Kylee (Nash) in Softball.”
