Baseball: Cats sweep doubleheader over Hornets

Wildcat Baseball hosted Mendon tonight in a doubleheader at Armstrong Field: GAME 1: Three Rivers 11, Mendon 7 Tyson Rohrer (4 SB), Mason Awe (5 SB, 2 RBI), and Gabe Young (4 RBI) each had two hits, Tate Rohrer added a hit in the win. The Cats capitalized on Mendon walking 11 batters which led to 15 stolen bases. Brady Penny started and got the win (4.2 IP, 7 SO) and Alex Nowak got the final seven outs (4 SO). GAME 2: Three Rivers 17, Mendon 2 (F/3) The Cats scored six times in the opening frame to cruise to a sweep of the Hornets. Tyson Rohrer, Aidan Williams (2B), Drake Dibble (3 RBI), and Tate Rohrer (2 RBI) each had two hits. Mason Awe, Gabe Young (2B, 2 RBI), and Lincoln Burkey added hits. Young pitched three innings, striking out four. Three Rivers moves to 18-8-1 on the season. BASEBALL NEXT: Wednesday, May 20 @ Kalamazoo Central 4:00 pm
