Three Rivers High School junior Elizabeth Oestrike earned a tie for 10th place at the Division 3 MHSAA Girls Golf State Finals, held at Ferris State University’s Katke Golf Course in Big Rapids. Oestrike finished the two-day tournament with a total score of 176, becoming just the 10th Wolverine Conference golfer across all divisions to earn top-10 honors at the MHSAA Girls Golf State Finals. Golfers faced brutal weather conditions on Friday, including strong winds, rain, and cold temperatures, resulting in a two-hour delay. Oestrike opened the tournament with a 92, recording three pars and five double bogeys. Saturday’s round began with an hour-long frost delay, but improved weather conditions brought lower scores. Oestrike responded with an impressive round of 84, recording eight pars and just two double bogeys. Her second-round score was the fourth-best of the day, helping her secure a top 10 finish. "Throughout the tournament, Oestrike handled the challenging conditions and delays with poise, capping off her junior season with an outstanding performance on the state stage." --Head Coach Mark Zeimet
